Finding Relaxation and Fun on a Family Cruise

A Personal Guide to Luxury at Sea on the Regal Princess

Finding Serenity and Fun: Our Favorite Family Cruise Activities

Here’s the thing about cruising with kids – while it might not be the peaceful ocean voyage some dream of, we discovered something even better: a perfect mix of family chaos and unexpected moments of bliss. After 10 nights at sea with a toddler and baby, I’ve got some seriously tested cruise activities to share. Whether you’re planning your first cruise with little ones or just curious about how we managed to find moments of luxury, here are my favorite ways to spend time onboard.

Morning Wellness with Ocean Views

Starting each day at Yoga 6 became my cherished ritual. While the boys happily explored the breakfast buffet with dad, I found my zen with morning stretches at 8 AM. This peaceful hour set the perfect tone for our action-packed days at sea. Bonus, it’s only 30 min so I never felt guilty.

Cozy Family Moments

The ship’s library became our unexpected favorite spot. There’s something magical about working on puzzles together while sipping hot tea and playing a game of checkers on the ocean.

Culinary Delights and Entertainment

The International Cafe quickly became my go-to spot for specialty beverages. As someone with dietary restrictions, I was impressed by their ability to craft a dairy-free, decaf London Fog accompanied by gluten free dessert options. The adjacent Piazza area offered constant entertainment, where we’d enjoy treats while watching live performances. Our toddler’s best memory is dancing with mommy on the boat.

Active Adventures at Sea

My Masters-obsessed son couldn’t get enough of the mini-golf course, where we enjoyed private family putting sessions with ocean views. The rarely-crowded pickleball court became another favorite spot, perfect for our toddler’s endless energy.

Poolside Paradise

The pool area’s shallow shelf section proved ideal for families with young children. Our toddler found endless joy running around, always ending his aquatic adventures with the ultimate cruise treat – poolside ice cream.

Live Entertainment

Though our early bedtime routine meant missing evening shows, we made the most of daytime entertainment. The cooking show and galley tour were unexpected hits – even our baby was captivated by the culinary demonstrations before nap time called.

Refined Relaxation

Afternoon tea was THE perfect post-nap activity. Waking up from a nap and demanding a snack never became more luxurious. For parents, the ultimate luxury came after bedtime: reading in peace together.
